Prayer in Witchcraft
Author: mojoman
Blessings are like daily water. Everyone needs them. Whether mixed with other elements or received by themselves. A world cannot survive without prayer. Epiphanies may come from meditation, healing from second sight but our blessings come from and are rooted in prayer.
The irony is this, in our daily life how often do you pray?
Myself? I must have prayed only a handful of times in this life but still remain blessed.
In order to live a charmed life I am not saying pray and pray a lot.
The only prerequisite for love is to leave your soul open to the compassion of others, even if they embody ill feelings for you.
Positive purpose begets more of the same. Good people deserve good laws, laws that will not govern but include karma and reciprocity.
Before these times we only allowed for mediocrity and a lull in nature. Today there is too much upheaval and no one can tell right from wrong.
Ethics becomes a matter of opinion and our blessings subdued.
Only we have the power to change our stars. In doing so we create life, purpose and prayerful thoughts. Joy and likeness prevail as we better understand the nature of blessings, on our path of righteousness.
Prayers are no different than the warm feeling one gets when a kindred spirit is awakened or a loved one is thinking about you.
Contacting the Goddess is possible through many forms of enlightenment. Prayer is one of the mediums not widely used. Learning to embrace those who intend to harm us or demonstrating “tough love” is part of being a Witch.
What we feel when we pray is to desire those that welcome our affection and surround us with positive energy. Instead of working to give via meditation and practice, we are receiving and allowing our souls to be loved and lifted.
Prayer is like no other reincarnation. It survives only to bring happiness to you.
Every time there is a nuisance or an ilk should there be a person praying?
No.
The only reason for betterment is to allow the person to feel for the nature of a situation or to become a part of something bigger than one self.
In the past, I have deviated from the “nature” of things. Being raised in a household where life was a metaphysical dream, I learned to think differently than my peers.
Upon reading literature from early times and to the present I became aware of fundamental knowledge. Knowledge that was not given to me but earned and represented through spirits that are to this day listening to each and every one of us.
The table has been set for a change. With the aide of or karmic impulse we are part of that change. The earth cries for more as the nation sees its cosmic flower blossom.
As a universal coven we can sit and watch the season change, or we can remain active realizing the Rosicrucian language of prayer.
Hermes once touched on the likelihood of another world. A place where there was no extremities, masks or divinations. That world is upon us.
Learning to open your mind and spirit to the possibilities of a brighter day is one step closer to his exaltation. Hermes prayed every day.
I have written a few essays entitled “In the Trees I Dwell, Sitting on Branches”. These essays are short exerts from a much higher source then me. Taking the elfish affection for mother earth and allowing it to be expressed in my work.
For every time I have prayed in my life, the words in these essays have rolled out of the pen like water off a rock.
The connection between Witchcraft and prayer must be solid.
If the changes of life should continue we as Witches should remain unsettled in our belief that the Goddess is watching us in quiet meditation, so making it our duty to answer back with reflection and information.
Facts as simple as the time of day can have a significant impact on the decisions She makes. Some would think that alone there is no time for prayer. For me, the only time is in solitude.
Divine thoughts come freely to those who hold steadfast to their beliefs. To not waiver in politics or semantics, we as humans take the responsibility as leaders and dictators of ourselves.
A good part of living things on this planet cannot say the same.
Looking to the landscape we must see our own personality reflected. Where a flower grows it thinks of nothing but blossoming to show its beauty. As a whole that same flower is lost amongst the field.
Admiring beauty is the act of recognizing individual characteristics. No two snowflakes are the same. No two eyes are the same.
This law is the same as that by which we pray.
Whenever you speak does it sound like someone else?
Is there a similar shape on your body?
This is what makes us who we are; if we cannot treat our brothers and sisters like twins (sharing every physical quality) then there is a lot to learn from that daily water.
Seeing in today’s society that the meek are not granted the kingdom of the earth only makes this point justified. Jealousy and piety are the determining factors revolving around revelations.
If one is too attuned to one’s self the tides are not right.
To become pious is only a selfish way of understanding the id. These are not ways to pray to nature.
If we have a personal conflict, if there are manipulating aspects, then there is no thought, no harmony. Alone, we may be at peace but we are also more vulnerable to condemnation and self-doubt.
Being a solitary witch I have understood very little about covens and circles of faith. The last thirteen years have been about awareness and observation.
Although I am aware my views are skewed I still remain solid in mind and that there will be a brighter day ahead and troubles of the present will become laughter of the past.
Still this change will not come without a little bending of the sun.
We must pray regardless to whom, it is engrained in all of our beings and alone we will start to unfold the tapestry of the future.
The actions of one person can ring true to an entire mass whether positive or negative. It’s controlling that ripple to ring true and divine. That’s what makes us Witches’.
Thought is just as effective as prayer, but the “p” word has a nice ring to it.
